RUPP ARENA TO HOST ITS FIRST COUNTRY CONCERT SINCE COVID SHUTDOWN!

98.1 THE BULL & HARDEE’S PRESENT ACOUSTIC CONCERT 2020 ON DECEMBER 8TH 
 WITH HEADLINER BRANTLEY GILBERT
AND FEATURING A FULL ROSTER OF COUNTRY ARTISTS

PUBLIC TICKET SALES START FRIDAY OCTOBER 30TH – ONLINE ONLY

 

98.1 The Bull and Hardee’s will present Acoustic Concert 2020 at Rupp Arena on Tuesday, December 8th at 7:30pm it was announced today by Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center.
 

This concert will be the first official concert at Rupp Arena since the mandatory Covid-19 shutdown in March.  The previously announced concert featuring rap artists Three 6 Mafia and special guest Project Pat will be the second concert at Rupp and is scheduled for Friday, December 11th at 7pm.
 

Acoustic Concert 2020 is a special evening featuring live, intimate, acoustic performances from both headliner and emerging country singer/songwriters.  Hosted by Officer Don and Deann, this year’s lineup features headliner Brantley Gilbert, and rising country artists Russell Dickerson, Riley Green and Dylan Scott. In addition, new artists Niko Moon, Runaway June and Matt Stell will also take the stage.
 

For the past seven years, Acoustic Jam has performed to sellout crowds at the Lexington Opera House, where the annual popular event originated.  Due to Covid 19 safety requirements, and in order to accommodate the largest audience possible, the event will move to Rupp Arena.

According to Michael Jordan, Senior Vice President for WBUL, “Dust off those cowboy boots and wear your mask, 98.1 The Bull is thrilled to bring country concerts back to Rupp Arena! We appreciate Central Bank Center and Rupp Arena staff working diligently with the Governor’s Office and the Kentucky State Department of Health in order to provide a safe venue for country fans across the region to gather for an evening of great entertainment.”

 

Director of Arena Management, Carl Hall added, “We are looking forward to hosting this exciting event and welcoming Country Music fans back to Rupp Arena.  We ask that patrons do their part to cooperate fully with the health restrictions set in place, including mask wearing and social distancing so we can continue to offer live entertainment in a safe and secure setting.”
 

The 21,492 area seating capacity will be scaled down to 15% capacity, which includes 3,223 patrons and event staff. Tickets will be sold in restricted socially distanced seat blocks of up to eight, with the vast majority of tickets in blocks of four.
 

Presented by 98.1 The Bull and Hardee’s, tickets go on sale Friday, October 30th at 10am. Due to on-going construction at Central Bank Center, the on-site Ticket Office is temporarily closed.  All ticket sales will be conducted online only at Ticketmaster.com.
 

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, tickets are available on mobile devices only.  Patrons can only use the Ticketmaster transfer option to forward tickets to the attending patrons in order to aid in contact tracing. Face covering for patrons and staff will be required to be worn during the entire event.  All guests must adhere to social distancing throughout the facility, including their seat location. Before entering, all patrons will be subject to temperature checks and may be subject to other CDC and KY State Department of Health regulations during the event.  Patrons will be allowed to bring in one clear bag only (12”x12”x6”). Artist Bios

Brantley Gilbert is an American country music singer, songwriter and record producer from Jefferson, Georgia. Combining the outlaw country of Eric Church with the blue-collar rock of Bruce Springsteen, Brantley Gilbert is one of the harder-edged names to emerge from the contemporary Nashville scene. Gilbert has found success with wins at the ACMs and iHeartRadio Awards, and 2014's chart-topping album Just As I Am, which also sold over one million copies and produced two No. 1 hits. His next album, The Devil Don't Sleep, peaked at No. 1 on the US Country chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200, leading to a sell-out tour of the same name. Released in October of 2019 Fire & Brimstone, Gilbert’s Fifth studio album featuring a series of powerhouse collaborations with some of country music’s finest artist such as Lindsay Ell, Willie Nelson, Alison Kraus, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson and Colt Ford. 
 

Russel Dickerson is a multiplatinum Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Union, Tennessee. In 2017 his debut album, Yours, bowed at #5 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and #1 on the Emerging Artists Chart, yielding three consecutive #1 smashes, including the double platinum “Yours,” the platinum “Blue Tacoma,” and “Every Little Thing.” Dickerson is an Academy of Country Music Awards, CMT Music Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards nominated artist.
 

Riley Green an American country music singer from Jacksonville, Alabama. He saw his first success with the gold-certified No. 1 hit "There Was This Girl" in 2018. He released an album, Different 'Round Here, in September 2019 featuring the GOLD-certified single “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.” Green has been named ACM’s 2020 New Artist of the Year, received nominations for Best New Country Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and was named MusicRow’s Breakout Artist of the Year at their Country Breakout Awards.
 

Dylan Scott is an American country pop singer and songwriter. With his romantic, PLATINUM-certified #1 hit “My Girl,” GOLD-certified Top 5 smash “Hooked,” and Top 5 breakout album DYLAN SCOTT, he’s transformed real-life experience into chart-topping success, sold out some of the nation’s most famous venues on headline tours, and performed for millions on national TV.
 

Niko Moon is a singer/songwriter from Tyler, Texas. He has written songs for the Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts, and Michael Franti, and was also a member of the group Sir Rosevelt with Zac Brown and Ben Simonetti.
 

Runaway June is an American country music group consisting of vocalists Naomi Cooke, Jennifer Wayne, and Natalie Stovall. Runaway June has become an ACM and CMT nominated band, and was named CMT’s “Next Women of Country.” 
 

Matt Stell is an American country music singer, guitarist, and songwriter from Center Ridge, Arkansas. His song "Prayed for You" and his EP Everywhere but On were released in 2019.
