Hello Kings of Leon Fan,
Thank you in advance for purchasing tickets to the upcoming Kings of Leon concert on Saturday, October 10th. We are anticipating a great night with over 10,000 fans. In an effort to provide some general information and alert you to some challenges in coming to this event, we offer the following information:
GETTING HERE - TRAFFIC ALERT! The concert is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM with doors opening to the arena at 6:30 PM. As you may be aware, there is a significant amount of road work being conducted immediately adjacent to the arena as well as other areas downtown. This road work has created a variety of challenges for patrons attending events. Listed below are the road closures and alternate routes to the arena. Please review this information so that you may travel with the minimal impact in your efforts to attend this concert. The roads in red below are closed to all traffic.

If you are traveling northbound on Highway 27, as you enter the area around Fayette Mall, please exit onto New Circle Road (Highway 4)and go west approximately 1.5 miles and exit onto Harrodsburg Road (Highway 68) and travel northeast into downtown Lexington. Turn west onto High Street and park in the lot directly across the street from Rupp Arena.
If you are traveling east on Highway 421 (Leestown Road), as you approach the city, you will need to exit south onto New Circle Road (Highway 4) and travel approximately 3/4 mile to Old Frankfort Pike exit. As you exit, turn left and travel east approximately two miles at which point you can enter the parking lot behind Rupp Arena.
If you are traveling from Interstate 64/75, you can exit either at Exit 113 (Paris) or Exit 115 (Airport/Lexington). If you take Exit 113, you will travel southbound into downtown and turn west on High Street adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Hotel and park directly across the street from Rupp Arena. If you take Exit 115, you will travel southbound into downtown. After crossing Main Street, travel approximately 1/8th mile and turn left into the parking lot directly behind the arena.
If you are traveling east bound on Highway 60 (Versailles Road), approximately 1/2 mile west of the arena, there is road construction which reduces the four lane highway into two lanes. Traffic "slows" in this construction area but does "move" with limited impact. If you wish to avoid this impact, as you enter the city take the north exit onto New Circle Road (Highway 4) and travel approximately 1.5 miles to the Old Frankfort Pike exit. As you exit, turn right and travel approximately 2.0 miles at which point you can enter the parking lot behind Rupp Arena.
All other routes into downtown Lexington should not be impacted by road construction but will be impacted by the increased amount of traffic.
Also, the city of Lexington has set up Satellite Parking at the Red Mile and Applebee's Park with Shuttle Service running to Rupp Arena every 20 minnutes. Cost of the shuttle is $2.50. Shuttles will run from 6:00 PM - 1:00 AM.
For a complete map of downtown go to http://www.rupparena.com/parkingAndDirections/directions.php for details. As illustrated, parking is available around the complex as well as several adjacent public parking areas. Paid parking will be in effect and the rate is $10.00 per car. With such a large show the demand for parking coupled with the impact of the road construction in the area will be very high. Please give yourself plenty of time to get here. There is also a complete, and up to date, list of all street closures at the LFUCG's website at http://www.lexingtonky.gov/index.aspx?page=1918.
WILL CALL If you are picking up tickets at Will Call, please be aware that the Ticket Office will open Saturday beginning at 10 AM. You may also pick your tickets up during normal business hours, 10:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Tickets will only be released to the person whose name is on the account; photo ID and the credit card used to purchase the ticket are required to pick up the tickets. Per artist management, no exceptions will be made to this policy. Long lines are anticipated at the Ticket Office so early pickup is highly recommended. For additional information regarding will call, please contact our Ticket Office directly at 859-233-3535.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING AND WHAT YOU SHOULD LEAVE AT HOME Please be reminded that in an effort to provide a safe and secure environment, patrons will be monitored as they enter the arena. Many items are restricted such as guns, knives, weapons of any type, video or audio recording equipment, professional cameras, mace/pepper spray, etc. For a full list of prohibited items, please review our website at www.rupparena.com. Small cameras to include cameras with a basic flash photography capability are allowed for this event but all photographs must be taken from your assigned seat. Digital cameras will be allowed but digital videos are strictly prohibited. Any patrons found doing so are subject to ejection per artist management.
ENTERING THE ARENA
This concert had the option of either general admission (floor access without seats) or reserved seating. Please review your tickets accordingly and determine if you are in reserved seats (tickets will be marked with a section, row and seat number across the top of the ticket) or general admission (tickets will state general admission across the top of the ticket).
For those with reserved seats tickets, you will enter the arena at the typical lobby entrance near the Hyatt Regency Hotel. For those with general admission tickets, you will enter the arena through the entrance on the west side of the arena. Patrons with general admission can begin lining up at 9:00 AM Saturday morning. Security will be in the immediate area to assist with questions / information as well as maintaining orderliness to the line. All patrons will be required to line up in single file and remain in their location upon arrival. The security officers on sight will be able to answer questions relative to contraband, access procedures into the arena, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: General admission tickets will only be accepted at the west entrance of the arena and reserved tickets will only be accepted in the arena lobby. Signs will be posted upon arrival reminding / directing ticket holders to their respective entrances.
If you are attending as a large group, to expedite entry into the arena, please distribute tickets to each individual prior to entering the arena lobby. As you approach the ticket takers, please hold your ticket upright so that the bar code is visible. The ticket taker will not need to "take" your ticket as it is validated by a bar code scanner. If they can scan the bar code, the lines will move very quickly.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE / MERCHANDISE There is a food court in The Shops at Lexington Center adjacent to Rupp Arena, and there are multiple restaurants within a short walking distance around the complex to visit prior to entering the arena for the show. Once inside you will find a nice selection of concessions available on the arena concourses. Merchandise locations will be located in the arena lobby as well as in several locations on the arena concourses. Both the concession stands and the merchandise locations take cash and credit cards. Additionally there are two ATMs located in the arena. One is in the arena lobby itself and the second in located on the concourse across from Section 12.
ACCESSIBLE NEEDS / FIRST AID For patrons with accessible needs, please proceed to the Guest Services entrance located adjacent to the primary entrances so that we better serve you. Our first aid station is located on the west concourse adjacent to Section 34 should you need medical assistance during the event.
ESTABLISH A MEETING PLACE AFTER THE CONCERT It is a good idea to establish a place to meet during or immediately after the concert in the event that your party gets separated. When you arrive, choose a place that is easy to remember such as the ATM in the lobby, the concession stand nearest the section where you are sitting, etc. We recommend not meeting at your vehicle in the parking lot as once you are outside, you can not return to the event.
SHOW SCHEDULE 8:00 – 8:45 pm – White Lies 8:45 – 9:15 pm – intermission 9:15 – 11:00 pm – Kings of Leon
ASSISTANCE DURING THE EVENT If at any time during the event you need assistance, please ask any of our guest services staff who are dressed in yellow jackets, and they will gladly help you.
We appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you at the show.
Respectfully,
Carl Hall Director of Arena Management Rupp Arena |
